Honda City Owners Club - Berbuka Event

Sorry is the only word that i can say and sorry again to HCOC members because i can't attend the "berbuka" event. To redeem it, here i dedicated a few minute in giving the highlight of the event.

This is the first event under HCOC, although it is not official but the effort to make it happen is there. I would like to thanks Carl, Afiq, Karen and Azeli for their effort in making this event happen. Although not all member were there, but it is sign that the club is alive.

With this event, i hope the club can grow bigger and bigger, thanks for all the support that you guys gave and we hope the next event will be merrier with all the participant of HCOC members.

"Continue" - City Mods.....

Hai Guys,

this post is the continues from the previous post. i stop at the second stage of mods that you guys should focus on. Anyway, here is my disclaimer on this topic;

1. This topic is focus on modification on stock engine and it is based on my knowledge
2. The result of modification is varies and based on your type of engine
3. If you guys think my advise is useless, don't follow it :)

Enough of disclaimer, we continue to the 3rd stage of modification for L15 stock engine

for this stage the modification will focus in replacing the stock throttle body to the oversize throttle body, brand such as super 90 or skunk is the reliable brand that you guys can look for (this not apply for NHC as there is no oversize throttle body in the market yet). Through this it will give your car more air flow and will increase the car performance.

On top of that city owners can also opt to change their camshaft to high performance camshaft. This will increase your car performance around 20% - 30% more. Another mods in this stage, is through the replacement of fuel injector to a higher cc. This will provide better fuel supply based on the engine needs.

The last mods under this staged is on the replacement of intake manifold. The oversize intake manifold will match the need of the oversize throttle body and the installation of engine management unit to match your upgrade and squeeze out the juice from the upgrade engine.

Extreme Modification

This stage is only applicable if either you feel bored in upgrading your stock engine or you guys want the super result from your ride. Under this stage, the modification should be focus on the turbo or supercharge installation, replacement of stock piston to forged piston, replacement of stock clutch plate to racing clutch plate, engine porting, or if you want to go more extreme is through the replacement of engine either to B16 or B18 type of engine or re-balancing your engine.

City Mods - Basic Information for Beginner

I feel it is good for me to share some information on Honda City mods. I'm not a "sifu" or "master" in this arena, there is no harm for me share the knowledge.

Honda City Basic Modification

This topic will focus on how you can improve your car performance with a guide / sources where you guys can find all the parts and installation place. Some of Honda city owners always asked how to improve their car performance and what is the best modification that their can have in order to improve the car performance. For me this is very subjective topic and based on the owners budget and interest on how far owners commitment in this arena.

For this topic, i only focus in enhancing the Honda City stock engine in order to squeeze out the juice from the stock L15 engine.

Stage 1

This is the 1st stage of modification the should be focus by City owners - Upgrading your extractor and piping. This to provide a better exhaust flow and to give your car better breathing space. Based on my experience and involvement in this arena, the best piping size that City owners can opt is;

N/A Engine

• 0.1inch - 0.2inch from the original piping size (for Automatic Transmission)
• 0.15inch - 0.3inch from the original piping size (for Manual Transmission)

Turbo / Supercharge Engine

• Up to the turbo capacity

This upgrade will provide around 10% - 20% increase in HP & trouqe, you can feel the different in your car acceleration.

Stage 2

This 2nd stage of modification which will touch in replacing your spark plug, crank pully and performance air filter / Open port air filter / Air Ram

In this stage it is suggested that the City  to change their spark plug to iridium spark plug. As this spark will reduce the hot spot that generate by the normal spark plug. There a lot of brand that you guys can opt to, currently i'm using Denso - IK series. This will improve your car performance up to 4% (result is varies based on the type of car)

Another mods that City Owners can do is through the replacement of original crankshaft to the lightweight version of crank shaft. This replacement will provide a better response from your engine either on the low or the high end of engine trouqe. The suggested brand that City Owners can target for this lightweight Crank Pully is Mytheology or other local brand that available for L15 engine

The others focus by the City Owners through the replacement of stock air filter either to the high performance air filter. The replacement from this stock air filter to higher performance air filter or Open Port style Air Filter will give City Owners around 3% - 4% (Drop in Version) and up to 10% (open port version) increase in performance. The reliable brand that available in market is such as K&N, Apexi, HKS or SIMOTA.

As usual, afiq will be the 1st to arrive at the scene...but he will be always the last to arrive..at the gathering point. With the fun fair car, it easy to recognize his car from far, hahahahahaha.










Our beloved car is line up before the satay session kicks in... Most of them are still "Dara".....only few cars are not "Dara" anymore....especially afiq and carls car..who has done alot of mods either on the internal or the external part.

Want to talks about city engine mods....for this one i will dedicated one post specifically for this topic. This can become the main reference to new beginner who want to mods their car.

Afiq builder city - this monster is superb in-term of performance. the external engine mods has made this car  can fly more than 2++ KM/H. There is still room for further modification on this car.
